The winner of this year's premier Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse will have a stunning new showpiece for their trophy cabinet.
Melbourne Racing Club has just taken possession of the brand new trophy and pendant set, as designed and crafted by Winning Edge Presentations.
The 18ct white gold, square and diamond shape pendant comprises a bezel set princess cut sapphire royal blue in hue 1=0.61ct, flanked by pave set round brilliant cut sapphires approx 1.00ct in total weight, and round brilliant cut diamonds F colour VS clarity 1.57 carats, on an 18ct white gold round omega chain. Finished weight of the piece is 19.4 grams (plus chain).
The interplay of sapphires and diamonds in crisp white gold squares enhance the royal blue of the sapphire. The shapes were inspired by the natural cubic structure of diamond crystals. Crafted using traditional techniques and precious materials the neckpiece comprises of a square princess cut sapphire surrounded by a collection of pave set white brilliant cut diamonds and sapphires. The piece has a total gem weight of over 3.0cts the neckpiece and large specially manufactured Arrowfield Blue Diamond Cup trophy combined as a value of $20,000.
Inspired by the dynamic style and grace of the racing industry, the Blue Diamond Neckpiece was designed to reflect a modern racing aesthetic and was intended to reflect the prestige and history of the race.
